National Grid is hiring a Director, Finance Business Partner – New England Electric, for our Finance department, located in Waltham, MA.

a. Support the CFO NE in leading the Massachusetts business through the long term business & financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes with an aim to drive financial performance.
b. Support the implementation of cost saving, continuous improvement and performance excellence activities, consistently achieving strong results in the Massachusetts business.
c. Support the delivery of the relevant business area’s financial response to regulatory arrangements and maximise future allowances for ongoing investment in infrastructure and services. – Deliver the best possible outcome so as to meet and/or outperform targets.
d. Act as the finance lead on investment appraisal process for the business area, guiding decision making with insight and optimisation opportunities, to ensure that all current and future investments are made in line with the business strategy and value requirements
e. Play an active role in developing and maintaining a cohesive team across Finance including contribution to the successful implementation of US Finance strategic priorities, to create & embed a high performing community. Support the implementation of continuous improvement and performance excellence activities within Finance.
f. Present the monthly results in a style suitable for both a finance and non-finance audience, delivering insight and highlighting priority areas for focus, ensuring efficiencies are optimised for the longer term. Provide action plans to address issues and ensure corrective actions are delivered on a timely basis.
g. Develop and manage a highly motivated, capable and adequately resourced team, driving a performance management culture that delivers value through employee engagement .
h. Actively contribute to the business to impact the shape of commercial and non-financial performance related decisions. Drive the management of performance, financial risks and the implementation & maintenance of controls.
Salary
$164k – $200k a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
