Financial Operations Analyst Job Description
SUMMARY:
A technology-focused company seeks an experienced Financial Analyst to manage and coordinate reporting and analysis of operational performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial guidance through analysis, forecasting, reporting, and control. He or she will work closely with the operations management team to provide critical decision support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gather and organize financial and operational data from accounting, operations and other relevant systems
Compile, analyze, and interpret financial reports that indicate trends, variances, risks, and opportunities associated with operational spend, capital investment, and inventories
Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions to help guide management to implement more effective operational strategies
Forecast spend based on various scenarios of production volume, product mix, structural changes, as well as planned improvements in productivity and efficiency
Provide end of period reporting packages for Finance and Operations management that are standardized across locations
Develop deep understanding of the causal operational factors of financial results inclusive of yield, utilization, and economic influences
Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; model scenarios of various strategies
Evaluate and analyze proposed capital investments
Increase productivity by developing automated applications for data aggregation and reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years’ experience working in finance for a manufacturing company (semiconductor experience preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance (MBA a plus) or relevant experience
Proven track record of working with teams to implement changes resulting from financial analysis
Well-developed analytical, problem solving, process improvement skills
Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders
Experience with cost accounting, standard costing and absorption methods
CMA certification a plus
Multi-site experience preferred, especially associated with standardization of methods
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint user
Skilled at data mining and establishing relationships in performance metrics
Familiarity with financial programs and software (SAP and BPC a plus)
Attitude: persistent and relentless, ambitious, inquisitive, self-starter who identifies opportunities for improvement and pursues change
