Job Title: VP OF FINANCE (NON_PROFIT)

Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000
Summary:
This newly created role to spearhead our finance division was created as a result of the agency’s growth and continued substantial projected growth over the next three to five years. The VP of Finance must be a strategic thinker, passionate about culture and impact, with a command of people and industry leadership. Responsible for the overall financial modeling, projections, oversight of funding/grant optimization and sustained success. Serves as the lead financial advisor to the CEO and executive team for strategic planning purposes, but must be willing to roll up their sleeves to unleash potential in all areas. Is the key liaison and manager for the administration and accounting department to the entire organization[MM1][KR2]. Responsible for aligning financial resources with the mission and vision of the organization and for identifying concrete ways to maximize free cash flow while looking for opportunities to effectively utilize agency assets and staff. The VP of Finance ensures the fiscal aspects of the organization’s operations are scalable for the expected projected growth[MM3][KR4].
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
· Partners with Executives to develop, implement and measure financial progress on strategic business plans and operating initiatives
· Advises the CEO and other key members of the senior leadership team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
· Serves as the liaison to the board, finance and audit committee member through effective communication and presentation of critical financial matters at select board of directors and finance committee meetings.
· Partners with the leadership team to execute on the development of YWCA’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
· Represents the organization externally, through building relationships with the agency key partners such as banks, donors, vendors, outside consultants and other financial institutions as needed to keep close to agency’s major expenditures and sources of revenue
· Leads and develops a team of finance professionals who are responsible for financial reporting, planning and analysis for agency.
· Oversees and evolves financial and operational metrics, analysis, and support tools to deliver actionable value-added insights to the functions supported by the programs teams, and the Executive team.
· Serves as part of the leadership team, helping to develop and execute multi-year business plans and strategies that advance agencies priorities and intended impact.
· Oversees the development and maintenance of short and long-range financial models that incorporate key business drivers and assist Senior Management in making financial decisions
· Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goals, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance appraisals, and other supervisory responsibilities.
· Provides appropriate oversight and collaborates with program directors to provide support on fiscal matters related to grants
· Ensures reports are available within set time periods for various parties, included but not limited to the CEO, COO, Directors and senior leaders, the Board, and outside agencies as necessary.
· Reviews short and long-term goals in light of existing and projected financial resources
· Oversees the agency investment portfolio and works with Board committees as the designated staff person

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting related discipline required; MBA is a plus; 10+ years of experience in financial analysis; senior management role ideally with in-house financial management experience; Preference for experience either as an employee or board member of a nonprofit organization; familiar with non-profit finance and accounting regulations; proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change/development within a growing organization.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.; Ability to work independently in a fast-past environment; Passion for YWCA’s mission, and ability to influence others to further the mission of the agency; previous experience in a Not-For-Profit is a definite plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Access and Accounting software/systems.
Certificates and Licenses:
CPA preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages two or more subordinate supervisors and staff members. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
