Pay is up to $180,000.00
Organize and control all the financial activities for a manufacturer of industrial products based in South Plainfield, NJ. As a member of the Management Team, a partner to the President and departmental managers, the VP of Finance must be comfortable working in a Management by Objective (MBO) system that drives organizational performance to meet both the annual budget and goals and the company•s long-term strategic plan. This position is responsible for all the financial activities, including billing, AR, AP, inventory, cash flow, financial statements, budgets and CAPEX ROI calculations. This position requires a hands-on approach to dive into the data to develop the proper analytical framework for the President and Leadership Team to run the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Direct the overall financial activities for the Company and connect all departments using KPIs and Budgets.
Accountable for the accurate management of all account ledgers, checks and balances.
Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting functions.
Develop and present financial and analytical reports as well as operational measurement reports.
Anticipate financial needs and issues that are driven by capital requirements, expense and revenue flows, etc. and develop solutions to address these needs and issues.
Prepare annual budget and review performance against the operating plan.
Work with Operations and other departments to identify cost savings initiatives and calculate ROI on CAPEX investments.
Be comfortable creating strategic initiatives consistent with company vision for future growth, including proactively partnering with the Leadership Team to achieve consensus goals.
Manage and prepare timely internal and external financial statements, including month end close process
Develop and monitor business performance using KPI metrics, budgets and other financial data
Lead relationship management with the Company•s financing and bank relationships, external auditors, accountants, lawyers & other professionals.
Responsible for accurate inventory management.
6. Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and filings
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Strong accounting knowledge required, a bachelor•s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance. A CPA and/or MBA a plus.
At least 5 years of financial accounting and management experience at Controller or VP level with inventory manufacturing background strongly preferred.
Experience in Lean or Six Sigma a plus.
Strong analytical skills.
General understanding of tax codes and laws, multiple legal entities experience a plus
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
Proven leadership skills and the ability to meet the needs of the business.
Strong Management and supervisory skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivation, a strong commitment to excellence as it relates to all functional areas under his/her management control, the ability to work well under pressure, act as a team player, prioritize and multi-task.
Significant IT knowledge & ERP experience, NetSuite a plus.
