Job Summary:
The State Tax Associate Manager (TAM) is a role that reports to the Senior Tax Manager. The TAM will assist with the review and oversight of state tax compliance, provision/accruals, and audit defense for the corporation. TAM should have experience with state income/franchise and sales and use tax. Exposure to premium tax is a plus. Additionally, the TAM will be involved in tax research, planning, and analysis of complex transactions to support the business.
This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
Review state compliance and provision/accruals
Coordinate with external vendor
Assist with state tax controversy; including audit defense and notice responses
Support state tax planning and enterprise initiatives
Research and analysis of complex transactions to determine state tax impacts
Stay updated on new tax law developments
Regularly communicate with other tax or accounting areas to keep informed of changes that will affect area of responsibility
Evaluate impact of process changes and improvements on other tax processes
Participate in meetings with other departments and outside consultants to communicate tax impact of proposed transactions and/or process changes related to area of responsibility
Cross train with Federal Tax Associate Manager Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
5 or more years of related experience Functional Skills:
Advanced knowledge of tax concepts needed to execute job responsibilities
Ability to utilize tax resources to generally monitor current tax developments and to research tax information needed to execute job responsibilities
Ability to independently perform complex tax or accounting analysis or research of issues that impact area of responsibility
Compensation offered for this role is $105,000.00-$120,000.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
