Responsibilities:
The Finance and Accounting Manager will support senior leaders in the administration, planning, and execution of company policies, goals, and objectives by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team members. The Finance and Accounting Manager will have supervisory responsibility with opportunities for advancement in the future. This position is ideal for a professional with an accounting, finance, and/or operations background looking to advance in their career.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Partner with leadership to oversee the practice area of administrative services including: Finance, Program Management and Proposal Center, and serve as a liaison to Corporate
Direct and oversee the financial activities of Stonemark, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth
Work with the corporate accounting department on financial statement preparation, monthly reporting, annual budget preparation, financial audits and other reporting requirements
Prepare certain financial activities of the business, including the preparation of operational reports/summaries, forecasting, etc.
Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
Work with the President and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process
Work with bankers for line of credit
Prepare examinations for state and bank auditors
Learn and develop a strong expertise of the premium finance industry
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in one or more departments including Accounting, Finance, Project Management, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), or similar position
Bachelor degree (Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
CPA preferred
Experience in the management of teams including all aspects of coaching, mentoring and providing verbal and written performance feedback
Prior auditing and / or consulting experience
Detail oriented with strong organization skills
Proven ability to work independently, yet function effectively within a collaborative team environment
