Together with the Director of Finance, supervise and direct all financial activities of the hotel, safeguard assets and prepare all financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
CORE FOCUS & RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes but are not limited to the following)
Oversee all activities of the accounting and finance department to ensure optimal performance
Interview, select, train, appraise, coach, counsel and discipline the accounting and finance team members according to Ace standards
Represent the Director of Finance in their absence
Advise and cooperate with other departments to develop and improve operational and financial matters
Liaise with other departments to communicate the needs of the accounting and finance department
Monitor departmental internal controls and create and implement standard operating procedures as necessary
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Direct month end processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
Perform analytical reviews and explain/research variances
Oversee monthly forecast preparation and assist with annual budget preparation
Assist with internal and external audits
Ensures proper, timely payment of fees for licenses, permits, regulatory contracts and insurance policies
Review sales tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Monitor records of inventory to control accuracy of supply distribution
Cover other accounting team members during absences
Ensure compliance with hotel and corporate policies and procedures
Performs special projects as needed on an ongoing basis
QUALIFICATIONS
Four year degree in accounting or finance
Four plus years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Exceptional interpersonal skills with an empathetic heart
Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
Must be able to prepare financial statements including cash flows and forecasts and analyze the results
Should be comfortable with reviewing regulatory and legal documents as they pertain to the role
Able to prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution
Able to collaborate with the BK team and take direction
Able to make difficult business decisions
Must be proficient in excel and accounting software
Must be proficient in English (written and verbal)
Must have superb time management skills
