Job Description
WIN Waste Innovations is a waste management company committed to delivering essential waste management solutions to customers and communities supported by our team of 2,100 employees. WIN Waste Innovations is a vertically integrated business with a platform of 50 strategically located collection, transfer and disposal assets. These include waste-to-energy facilities, transfer stations, ash monofills, landfills, and fleets of rail cars and collection vehicles. We process more than 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons of waste into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper and metals from the waste stream.
Summary: We currently have an opening for a Finance Manager at our corporate office in Portsmouth, NH. The Finance Manager will support the Finance department to meet defined budgeting, forecasting, and reporting deadlines. The position also supports finance and business development initiatives, M&A activity, finance integration, building and designing financial models and reporting tools. Support commitment efforts with consistent financial analysis to ensure projects meet company’s hurdle rates.
Essential Functions
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and reporting tools to generate timely and comprehensive financial plans for the business
- Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for the operating facilities and corporate headquarter departments giving in-depth explanations when required
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of financial analysts with a focus on coaching and career development
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive any necessary standardization or process creations to support the business
- Build and design financial models needed for financial planning, business development initiatives and M&A activity
- Assist in running scenarios and sensitivity analyses to determine the impact of different economic assumptions and conditions impacting the company’s financials
- Support commitment efforts and assist in the development of presentations and financial analysis to ensure projects meet hurdle rates
- Provide senior management with timely, accurate information for effective decision making
- Complete ad hoc analysis and support when needed
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 7+ years of experience
- MBA/CPA preferred
- Waste industry experience preferred
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
- Works well independently as well as a team player with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and peers alike in a collaborative and constructive manner
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter, who will take the initiative when needed
- Experience in GAAP Financial and management reporting processes
- Solid working knowledge of general ledger and other financial systems
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Expertise in building and maintaining complex financial models in Excel.
