Finance Manager – S&M and Services
Reporting to VP of Finance this Finance Rockstar will work along with Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Head of Customer Experience to drive global planning, forecasting, KPIs reporting and guide ROI-based decision making across Sales, Marketing and Services teams for Cleo Software.
What you will be doing
Marketing:
Work along CMO and other Sales generation team leaders in creating:
Detailed pipeline analysis
Conversion analysis (perpetual license maintenance to subscription, on-prem subscription to cloud subscription)
Various marketing investments and ROIs
Create other ad hoc reports as required by CMO
Sales:
Work along with CRO and Sales Operations in creating:
Monthly / Quarterly sales forecast
Quota per rep and VP that ties to monthly / quarterly sales forecast
Variable compensation planning per quarter based on quota attainment
Tracking actual quota attainment and variable compensation per quarter
Win/(Loss) analysis
Create other ad hoc reports as required by CRO
Services:
Create weekly /monthly reporting packet covering Services KPI:
Service bookings / billings / revenue forecast
Backlog with detailed analysis
Utilization
Book to Bill ratio
Engagement completion analysis
Contribution Margin analysis at consolidated and individual engagement level
Customer Satisfaction and risk analysis
Create other ad hoc reports as required by Head of CX
General:
Assist in calculating various metrics directly related to subscription bookings, Sales and Marketing (S&M) and service including LTV and CAC, Sales Efficiency ratio and others.
Develop deep understanding Cleo’s Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy
Support company-wide planning and forecasting processes; implement processes and tools necessary to help scale financial best practices
Understand and promote FP&A values and best practices
Build reporting presentations for executive and board level audiences
Perform ad hoc financial analyses and operational work as required
Your Qualifications
4+ years of investment banking or PE experience preferable with Software/SaaS companies OR 5-7+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, Sales/Revenue Finance, or Strategic Finance
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets are required
Strong Modeling skills – Create Excel models of business models that can be easily analyzed including Sensitivity Analysis are required
MBA preferred
Experience supporting sales and/or marketing teams is highly preferred
A penchant for nurturing trusted cross functional relationships, influencing decisions at the highest levels, and driving alignment on strategic priorities and financial objectives
Seen as a trusted and objective advisor
Strong communication skills are a must
Organizational and multitasking skills with a high attention to detail, a sense of personal accountability, an urgency for achieving results while rejecting false tradeoffs
Strong understanding of SaaS business model, metrics, and unit economics
Ability to apply these concepts in evaluating opportunities and risks, and guiding leadership decision making across both short and long-term time horizons
Ability to distill complex business information into consumable executive narratives and actionable insights
Proficiency with core financial and revenue systems, including ERP software (like Adaptive Insights or Anaplan), Salesforce, NetSuite, Tableau etc.
A growth mindset with a track record of integrity, self-motivation, collaboration, a demonstrated ability to learn quickly
Some travel likely required to work with S&M and services executives in Bay Area, California
