General Description
The purpose of the Finance Manager is to oversee professional, technical, and administrative direction of all financial functions and day to day operations of the Sheriff’s Office. This includes law enforcement operations, civil process and detention center functions. The Finance Manager will oversee budgeting, purchasing, payroll, inmate commissary management, inmate trust fund and inmate property management, property and inventory control, accounts payable and receivable, financial accounting and monitoring, contract management, and registration functions in order to assist the Sheriff’s Office in operating effectively and efficiently. This position is responsible for developing the policies, procedures, and systems which promote and maintain the overall fiscal and budgetary integrity of the agency. Position requires an extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the Sheriff’s business strategies.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline supplemented by six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental financial management; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Physical Demands:
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
