SUMMARY: Functions as a strategic financial leader, supporting the Controller. The position helps develop and implements strategies, focusing on compliance. Leads on Budget activities for the Agency. Creates and supports policy and procedures, aligning best practices and activities All-Agency, including at the Health Center level. Executes financial and accounting activities and the delivery of desirable financial results.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience and 2 years supervisory (4 years preferred) at least 4 years of supervisory experience is required. Knowledge in general ledger, financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, annual audits, and GAAP accounting for non-profits is required. Experience and comfort with accounting software is required. Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, and demonstrated leadership skills are required. In addition, we are seeking someone who is detail-oriented, excellent at managing multiple priorities, an efficient project manager, able to work independently, and someone who works collaboratively with their team. Candidates with a CPA certificate are highly preferred.
Essential functions:
Analyzes information, forecasts revenue streams against expenses and creates annual budget plans.
Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual revenue and expense information against budget.
Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
Creates the annual operating budget.
Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
Implements a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks.
Developing and Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals
Ensures Profits and Losses are documented accurately.
Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
Develops and supports achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
Improves profit growth in operating departments.
Reviews audit issues to ensure accuracy.
