This Accountant 2 position is located in the Investment Control Division of the SERS Office of Financial Management and reports directly to an Investment Accountant. The position focuses primarily on recording and reporting various types of investment activity in the Defined Benefit Plan. On a regular basis, this position records, reconciles, and reports all investment values for over 300 accounts in various asset and sub-asset classes; maintains working knowledge of the Institutional Limited Partners Association’s (ILPA) templates, Capital Account Balance (CAB) statements, and manager-audited financial statements; performs pubic market manager reconciliations for accounts custodies at the sub-custodian; performs variance analyses to identify and explain large or unusual fluctuations and trends in investment balances; produces or reviews investment-related general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations; and assists with investment-related components of the SERS annual Budget Book, financial statements, and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
