This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Job Purpose
The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance will directly be responsible for supporting sales and operational VPS of a $1.6B+ global P&L within Enersys.
The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance provides key business and financial support to both the ESG (Energy Systems Group) sales and marketing organization. This role will partner with the commercial teams to drive top line growth and profitability. This person partners with business leaders to understand performance as it relates to key products, markets, regions, and customers with a focus on product, price, volume, and mix. This role provides financial analysis to support pricing strategies, identify growth opportunities, and assess product line profitability. The position will lead the financial preparation of the strategic Plan; Top Line Operating Plan, and monthly forecasts. The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance will also work with IT and Finance teams to develop sales tracking tools, monitor incentive performance, and improve overall visibility to results.
In addition, this person will interface with Operations, Supply Chain and SIOP Finance leadership team to ensure an integrated approach to planning as it relates to demand capacity planning. This position requires strong financial and analytical skills, experience with standard measurement tools and analysis used by sales organizations, and experience in a manufacturing-oriented environment. This position requires the ability to communicate results to non-financial people and simplify complexity. The position must manage multiple business partners, be able to prioritize requests, and multi-task effectively.
The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance role will report to VP of Finance for Energy Systems at Enersys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with LOB Commercial leadership teams to understand key sales, margin and profitability drivers and undertake analysis to support driving profitable sales and maximize margin and assisting with P&L reporting. Develop/validate pricing strategies, optimize product portfolio profitability, and improve commercial terms.
Deep focus around customer account / product family profitability – review monthly customer accounts, investigate/understand of variances and work with commercial teams to resolve issues as they emerge.
Prepares and presents the monthly financial package to the executive teams, highlighting key variances versus. Forecast/Budget, providing updates on revised outlooks and manages / tracks risk and opportunities. Prepare and present sales, bookings, backlog analyses and recommendations to senior leadership
Strategic Planning: Lead /coordinate strategic planning activities in partnership with marketing and sales. Work with leadership to understand risks and opportunities and suggest approaches to mitigate.
Forecasting: Leads monthly sales forecasting cycle and coordinates weekly pacing reviews in comparison to monthly quarterly targets, budget and historical trends.
Sales Reporting and Analysis – Analyze monthly commercial results and evaluate trends in performance focusing on the impact of price volume and mix as it relates to prior year results, budget, and forecast. Prepare and lead monthly sales/bookings/backlog forecast review meetings with the Commercial teams
Product Line Profitability – Assess product profitability and utilize financial metrics to understand current as well future performance. Analyze and compare product margins globally.
Reviews commission programs to further enhance long-range goals – partner with sales to continually analyze business results, recommending changes when necessary.. Measure and track internal sales incentive plans and external customer rebate programs. Work with accounting team to ensure proper accruals.
Business Intelligence Systems – Identify, recommend, and help implement BI tools to drive sales growth, communicate results, and measure performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reports are aligned; analyze any variances
Utilize multiple systems to consolidate data and determine actionable decision points.
Perform ad-hoc analysis for effective decision making.
Maintain data integrity in reporting systems and Datamart

Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of applicable experience with exposure to commercial finance and FP&A
Bachelor’s degree in Business, or an MBA
Accounting background with a CA/CPA/CMA designation.
